About : Ravi Thakur
Ravi Thakur is a contemporary artist born in Samastipur(Bihar) India, And working in Jaipur, working primarily with mixed media and textile on canvas. With over 10 years of experience, his practice centers on the emotional and spatial dimensions of the present moment blended with illusionary space and forms- where human life, nature, and unseen forces coexist in quiet conversation.
Ravi's work gives equal agency to clouds, wind, animals, and people, treating each element as a character within a larger, living narrative. Through faceless figures, symbolic objects, and dreamlike environments, he constructs layered compositions that evoke presence, memory, and subtle transformation.
Drawing inspiration from traditional Indian aesthetics particularly in color palette, linearity, and spatial arrangement
Ravi fuses heritage techniques with a contemporary visual language. His use of textile is not just decorative but conceptual, enhancing the tactile identity of his characters and infusing his work with warmth, rhythm, and material memory.
From intimate scenes like a whimsical dog-and-cat "Fine Dining Pet Edition" to surreal domestic spaces and natural metaphors, Ravi's art invites reflection on the now a present that is both transient and infinite.
